This is a little blog to keep you updated on Blake and our family. Since we have family all over the place we thought it would be nice to try to keep everybody in the loop with what's going on!

Upper GI
Since Shelby was born, she has had an awful time with reflux and spitting up. She was on Zantac at first but it didn't seem to help the spit up. The doctor then changed her to Prevacid and also changed her formula. Several nights/afternoons last week, she would just scream for long periods of time. Once for an entire hour straight. I thought I was going to lose my mind. I took her back to the doctor last week and he ordered an Upper GI which has been scheduled for tomorrow, March 28th. If you're not familiar with an Upper GI, you have to drink a Barium mixture and then they take x-rays of how your body handles swallowing, reflux, etc. Hopefully it will not show anything major and we can get this resolved soon. The doctor has also changed her back to the Zantac and so far has seemed to feel better. She still spits up pretty bad but hasn't been screaming, thank God! Please pray for us tomorrow and I will update blog as soon as possible :)

Shelby
As most of you probably already know, Ms. Shelby made her debut at 5:34 p.m. on February 1st. Due to hypertension issues, my doctor decided to induce at 39 weeks. It was a long, scary day but thankfully everything turned out well. Long story short, after my 3rd epidural, my blood pressure dropped to 65\35 and they had to give me meds to bring it back up. When my blood pressure dropped so drastically, Shelby's heart rate dropped and they were never able to get it regulated. Thankfully everything turned out okay and she came out screaming!
Shelby had jaundice and had to be put on the light during the first two weeks but finally her levels came down and she was able to come off the light. It's funny how different your kids can be. Blake was so relaxed and happy and quiet and never cried. Shelby is so fussy and wants to be held all the time. We're currently still trying to get her formula and reflux medications situated so hopefully something will make her less fussy. She's not a good car rider either.
Blake loves his baby sister (so far) and is actually very protective of her. Hopefully that will continue and they will get along well. I have two weeks of maternity leave left and I am going to be really sad when I have to return to work. I have thoroughly enjoyed this time with my babies (although some days are extremely trying) and will miss them terribly when I return to work. My parents are amazing and have helped me out so much. I don't know how people do it without family, I really don't. I count my blessings every day :)
