Blizzard of 09

You have to understand that when SC gets snow, we go absolutely insane. With the thought of inclimate weather, schools, daycares and businesses were showing closings the day before! I woke up last Tuesday to get ready for work and there was BARELY any snow. It flurried throughout the day but travel was fine and by that night, most every trace of it was gone. Anyway, thought you guys would like pics of our "blizzard." Hahahaha!

Big Bathtub

Blake loves his bath and I think we are going to have a swimmer on our hands! Since he is able to sit up really well now mom and I decided we would try him in the big bathtub. A friend of mine from work gave me a little seat which suctions to the bottom of the tub. When I put him in it, he starting kicking and flailing around and squealing with delight. I can't wait to get him in the pool this summer!

Migraines, Blood Pressure and Thyroid

I had the worst headache of my life in early December. Accompanied by nausea and blurred vision, I had never experienced anything like it before. I called the doctor and he called in some Imitrex for me. It helped a lot and I was able to sleep that night. My blood pressure decided to hit the roof for no apparent reason so now i am on blood pressure medicine until who knows when. Christmas Eve I got hit with another migraine but I took the imitrex immediately and when I got home from work, mom watched Blake a little longer so I could lay on the couch with my eyes covered. Those of you who've had migraines know that light and sound make it way worse.
With that said, I've been getting headaches every day which sucks really bad. My doctor did a cat scan and thankfully nothing showed up but the headaches continued. Two weeks ago, he made me an appointment with a neurologist and he wanted me to get an MRI of my brain (which thank God showed up normal). He put me on some medicine that I take daily to keep from having headaches.
One possible explanation for the headaches is the extreme tightness I have in my back and neck. Apparently I carry my stress there and believe me, there is a lot of stress hanging out in there, hahahaha! I started Physical Therapy last week at this new place. The therapist is East Indian and uses a combination of new and old world therapies which are fantastic. I did the electric therapy yesterday where they use electric currents to loosen up the muscles. IT was great! A little strange at first but felt really good after a while.
While they were trying to figure out what was causing my headaches, my blood work came back indicating that my thyroid wasn't doing it's job so now I get to take daily Thyroid medication. I feel like my Residents at work when I'm taking all these pills every morning and night! Poor things! So anyway, I'll quit complaining now but please think about me and keep me in your prayers!

Christmas Day

Yes I know how late I am posting but I'll adhere to the old adage "better late than never!" Christmas morning was fun and Blake had a better time trying to eat the wrapping paper and bows than playing with his toys. He got a stocking full of fruits and veggies from Santa and a couple toys. Then we headed off to Chapin to Christmas with Brent's Dad's side of the family.
Lunch was delicious and it was great visiting with family and especially watching the kids opening their presents. It was really cute watching Blake and Collin together. Megan and MaKayla (sorry if I spelled this wrong!) took a real interest in Blake and they pretty much watched him the entire time(they are Brent's cousins children). They carried him around and played with him on the floor and he was loving his big cousins! Megan did especially well with him even after she got severely spit up on!
We ate dinner at mom and dad's house around 6:30 and then celebrated our Christmas with them which is always fun. Blake's first Christmas was amazing and we are truly blessed to have so many family and friends that love us so much. It was a "Fisher Price Christmas" hahaha, and now Brent and I are going to go broke buying batteries for all of his gifts! I guess next year we get to look forward to him eating ornaments, hahahaha!
